SampleSource is a third party sampling service with a Canadian site. Brands choose which member profiles receive each sample, and members order from home while supplies last. Below are the 6 steps, as described on the service’s own pages.

This is an independent information site. It is not affiliated with SampleSource or any brand and does not send samples. Rules and availability vary by season and by campaign.

Step 1: Create a free member account

Registration happens on the “Register” page of SampleSource.com. The account is free. The service has an English site and a French site for Canada.

Step 2: Confirm the email address

After registering, the site shows a page titled “Last step! Confirm your email”. A message goes to the inbox used in the form, and the registration is completed by confirming the address from that message. It is worth checking the spam or promotions folder if the message does not show up.

Step 3: Answer the profile questions

Members fill out a profile about their household. These answers are used to match members with samples: brands choose the audience for each campaign, and the profile is what decides whether a member is invited.

Step 4: Wait for the invitation email

There is nothing to order right after signing up. When samples that match the profile become available, SampleSource sends an invitation by email. Samples are released a few times a year; members are notified by email. Weeks or months can pass between messages.

Step 5: Log in, choose the samples and confirm the order

With the invitation, the member logs in, sees the samples offered for that profile, chooses among them and confirms the order. Quantities are limited and each offer runs while supplies last, so an invitation is not a promise that every sample will still be available later.

Step 6: Follow the order

After confirming, the order can be followed on the “Order Status Check” page of SampleSource.com. That is the place to look before contacting the service about a package.

Quick checklist for each round

Based on the SampleSource FAQ and Terms of Use

1. Email confirmed: the account is only complete after the “Last step! Confirm your email” page.

2. Profile filled out: samples are matched to the member profile.

3. Inbox watched: invitations arrive by email when a matching sample is available.

4. One package per household: one order per offer period, counted by address, email or IP.

5. Season in mind: the FAQ mentions spring, summer and fall, with no shipping in winter.

6. Order tracked: the “Order Status Check” page shows where the package is.

Requirements

  • Be 18 or older, according to the SampleSource Terms of Use.
  • Live in Canada. The service runs samplesource.com and samplesource.ca, with English and French versions.
  • One package per household per offer: one order per offer period, counted by address, email or IP.
  • Have a profile that matches the campaign. Brands choose the audience, so not every member is invited to every round.

Where to sign up and how to get help

Registration is done at www.samplesource.com, in English. Questions about an account or an order go through the “Contact Us” page of the same site. This page does not publish a phone number or a mailing address for the service, because none could be confirmed on the service’s own pages.

When samples go out

Samples are released a few times a year; members are notified by email. The SampleSource FAQ mentions shipping in spring, summer and fall, and says there is no shipping in winter because products can freeze. There is no official date for the fall 2026 round, and dates seen on other websites have not been confirmed by the service.

For anyone who signs up between December and February, the next shipment depends on the season. The account stays in place, and the profile counts for the next round when shipping resumes.

If SampleSource is not a fit

The service is limited to adults living in Canada, and invitations depend on the profile matching a campaign. For households that are not receiving invitations, or that want other ways to save, Nestlé Canada’s help page on coupons and samples names other options besides SampleSource.com:

  • Made with Nestlé newsletter (madewithnestle.ca): offers, coupons and invitations from the brand, sent by email.
  • save.ca: grocery coupons used when buying products at the store.

Nestlé Canada also mentions Checkout 51, a commercial app run by a private company that gives cashback after a purchase. It is not a sample service and not a public program.
